Grape SEO was founded in 2019 after years of working in digital agencies in Barcelona where the standard operating model was monthly retainers with undefined deliverables and recurring billing that never quite added up. We took a different approach: every project has a defined scope, a fixed price, a stated delivery timeline, and a clear exit point when the work is done.
We are based in Sant Quirze del Valles, a town in the Valles Occidental comarca of Barcelona province. Most of our clients are businesses in the Barcelona metropolitan area, though we work digitally across Spain and with European companies that need Spanish-market SEO.
All work is delivered in English and Spanish. The project brief process, deliverables, and communications can be in either language.
What we believe.
SEO is engineering first
Good SEO is mostly engineering: crawl health, URL structure, page hierarchy, internal linking, schema, and page speed. Creative content matters once the architecture works. Most agencies invert this and write articles for sites that cannot be crawled correctly.
Reporting is not a service
Sending a monthly PDF with graphs is not a deliverable. Every project produces something concrete: an audit document, a content roadmap, an implemented page, a set of acquired links. If the result is only a report, the report describes work, not an outcome.
Scope matters more than duration
A three-month retainer with vague scope produces less useful output than a two-week fixed project with a defined deliverable. We work in projects, not ongoing relationships, because projects have clear success conditions.
Spanish SEO requires Spanish thinking
Running Google Translate over English content and hoping for the best is not a Spanish SEO strategy. Search intent, SERP features, and user behaviour in Spain differ meaningfully from English-language markets. We have operated in this market since 2019 and understand it.
